Everyday Cooking Adventures’ Smoked Salmon Dip

This dip is courtesy of the Flaa family who let me visit their vacation home in Kenai, Alaska for 4 years in a row. The dip is perfect for summertime relaxing outside at a picnic table but is delicious obviously anytime you can get your hands on smoked salmon, not lox, smoked. Enjoy!

Smoked Salmon Dip
Recipe by: Everyday Cooking Adventures, 2014
Serves: 4-6 people
Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
  • 1 smoked salmon filet, about 1/2 pound
  • 4 oz. whipped cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup salsa, thick not watery
  • Crackers
  • Optional: Celery and carrot sticks

Directions:

1. Carefully crumble the smoked salmon filet in a medium bowl making sure to remove any bones or skin still attached. Do this slowly because no one wants to choke on a small pin bone in your dip.

2. Add in the whipped cream cheese and salsa and stir with a spatula until well combined. If it looks a little dry add more cream cheese and/or salsa accordingly. It should be a thick dip.

3. Scoop into a pretty bowl and serve alongside crackers of your choice. We prefer Ritz crackers for the buttery salty flavor with the dip. You can also serve alongside celery and carrot sticks for a healthier alternative. Enjoy!
