Schmidt Family Vineyards’ Valentine’s Day Dinner

For the second time in a month we were treated like royalty. Spending Valentine’s Day dinner at Schmidt Family Vineyards in southern Oregon’s Applegate Valley was a decadent and flawless experience. Having enjoyed their January Winemaker’s Dinner with a lovely Woodland theme at a long table in the tasting room, we knew we were in for a special time last night.

The decor, friendly workers who are mostly all part of the Schmidt family, and perfect pairing of their wines with top-notch food dishes are not to be missed. The two-person tables were decked out with candles in mason jars, flowers in adorable heart vases, balloons, and little stamps made from wine corks we could take home.  Here’s a rundown of the divine food we ate and the wines that paired with them:
Spring Mix with Pickled Cucumbers, Red Onions & Feta
Paired With: 2012 Albarino (See my Wine Journal for description)
