Star Jones’ Garlic Lobster Tails

Talk about a fancy meal! With Lamb Short Ribs and Gremolata as an appetizer and lobster tails as a main course, this is one meal I am not soon to forget and I didn’t have to lift a finger. I did supervise a little but all the cooking was done by my man, lucky me!Garlic Lobster Tails ©EverydayCookingAdventures2015

He brought home two gorgeous lobster tails and I founds this simple recipe that was sure to be easy to follow and yummy to eat. I’ve never cooked with lobster before, but I have made Steamed Crab. This recipe however called for a broiling method and when 15 minutes was up the lobster had gone from opaque to white and steaming. It was absolutely delicious and the Cajun flair really added a nice, mild spice.

Garlic Lobster Tails

Recipe from: Star Jones, Food Network Specials, “Celebrity Dish: The Holidays”

Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 large lobster tails (8 ounces each)
  • 2 to 3 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp. butter, cut into bits
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1/3 tsp. Cajun spice
  • 1/3 tsp. seafood seasoning, such as Prudhomme Seafood Magic

Directions:
1. Preheat broiler in the oven. With kitchen shears or large, sharp knife, cut lobster tails down back on curved side of shell. Pry sides of shells apart to expose meat.

2. Top meat with garlic and butter. Squeeze lemon juice over lobster meat and dust liberally with Cajun spice and seafood seasoning.

3. Set lobster tails in roasting pan and broil 4 to 6 inches from heat for 12 to 15 minutes, until meat is opaque in center.
