Adieu 2012, Welcome 2013!

Well I started this blog with the goal of recording my cooking attempts and recipes and have loved seeing friends and family follow me on here! I have so enjoyed the past two months of blogging about my cooking adventures. 2012 was a wonderful year as I had the pleasure of visiting France, Scotland, the Hamptons, and California for many beautiful occasions such as friends’ weddings and showers, family birthdays, and to celebrate the holidays.

I have also been able to conquer some of my cooking/baking fears such as making a Julia Child recipe, roasting a whole chicken, and finding out what one does with tofu. I have also had the chance to try making some of family’s recipes such as: my grandma’s coffee cake, my mom’s meatloaf, my grandmother’s sugar cookies, and my dad’s turkey noodle soup. Please keep the recipes coming!

Everyday Cooking Goals for 2013 are as follows:

1. Make my own pie crust from scratch
2. Make more family recipes
3. Learn how to make a basic salad dressing
4. Make my own pizza dough
5. Perfect the omelette
6. Make homemade matzo ball soup, not just the box kind
7. Attempt a thick, homemade milkshake
8. Learn how to make authentic Pad Thai
9. Try to make my own sushi
10. Whip up a Bearnaise sauce

I have 365 days and counting…I hope I can make each of these come true! Happy New Year!
