Food Network Magazine’s Roast Beef & Brie Tea Sandwiches

This afternoon my friend Darcy and I threw a lovely baby shower for our friend Julie. We had things ranging from crudite with black bean and red pepper feta dips and homemade pita chips to deviled eggs  to strawberry shortcake on huckleberry scones. We wanted to have tea sandwiches as well and I had so many options to choose from. After perusing some on Pinterest and recipe websites, I chose one that sounded likeable by most but also a little bit more interesting than the typical cucumber sandwich.

This one came from Food Network’s own magazine that had an article with 50!! different tea sandwiches to choose from. It was simple but pretty. The shower was Storybook themed so all the food went with a specific children’s book. These sandwiches went with Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown, one of my own childhood favorites. I’m sure you can see how it tied in with the book! Here are my tea sandwiches: #foodnetwork #babyshower #teaparty

Roast Beef & Brie Tea Sandwiches

From: Food Network Magazine

Ingredients:
  • 6 slices of buttermilk bread or 1 french bread loaf
  • 1/4 lb. best deli roast beef
  • Dijon mustard
  • butter, softened or butter spread
  • 1 granny smith apple
  • handful of watercress, stems removed
  • 1/2 a wedge of brie cheese
  • cookie cutter of your choice if desired
Directions:
1. Spread softened butter and Dijon mustard inside a split loaf of French bread (I used white bread so I could use the cookie cutter more easily).
2. Fill with deli ham (I substituted roast beef instead), sliced brie and sliced green apple. (I added watercress as well)
3. Cut into pieces.
